Texas Hill Country GMRS & Amateur Radio Community
is More than a repeater system—it's a community.
The Texas Hill Country GMRS & Amateur Radio Community is a volunteer-driven system built to serve the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Designed, operated, and maintained by local radio enthusiasts, our system provides reliable communications across the rugged terrain where cellular service is often limited or unavailable. More than just repeaters and radio towers, we're a community dedicated to bringing people together through the shared enjoyment of radio.
Our mission is to provide continuous coverage from the San Saba River to the Blanco Bend, while expanding into surrounding counties as opportunities arise. Through our growing & stable repeater system, we support everyday conversations, bi-weekly nets, travel coordination, technical discussions, severe weather monitoring, emergency communications, and helping new operators get started in the hobby.
We believe radio is about more than making contacts—it's about building relationships. Whether you're participating in one of our bi-weekly nets, enjoying a ragchew with friends, asking technical questions, or simply listening in while traveling across the Hill Country, you'll find a welcoming community that values courtesy, learning, and helping one another.
The repeaters are free to use for all licensed GMRS & Amateur operators and are maintained entirely through the dedication, time, and generosity of our volunteers and supporters. Every improvement to the system is made possible by people who share a passion for keeping the Hill Country connected.
